  Wireless Monitoring

Nichols provides a reliable wireless solution for those who do not have any telephone line or internet access or wish to install a reliable backup solution. The cellular communicator connects to a data network that wirelessly transmits a signal to our central station no matter the location. The cellular communicator can be used as either a primary means of communication or as the primary backup in case of phone line tampering or loss of telephone service.

Benefits
Use for primary communications link or as a dependable backup. Changing providers at any time and plug-in expansion cards with no additional enclosure or cabling are Nichols exclusives. Our exclusive DMP Adaptive Technology seamlessly switches between communication paths if the primary path becomes unavailable. Also utilizes low current and features a long standby battery life.

  Internet Monitoring

In 2001, Nichols, partnered with DMP, forging the way to a new era for the security and fire alarm industry with the first U.L. listing for Internet Monitoring.  Internet Monitoring is extremely fast, cost effective and more secure than traditional methods of alarm monitoring.  Any customer with an internet connection can benefit from Internet Monitoring.  In addition, this method of monitoring is immune to changes in telephone technology such as changes from traditional phone lines to VOIP or digital voice service.  Any commercial customer with an existing LAN can benefit from the cost savings of using existing networks instead of adding additional telephone lines.

Advantages

Savings:
By using a full time internet connection, company internal LAN/WAN connection, or POS (point of sale) network already available in many business locations, the cost of adding and maintaining an additional phone line is avoided.

Speed:
Dial up alarm transmissions can take as long as 45 seconds to reach the Central Monitoring Station.   The typical time for our Internet Monitoring accounts is 50-70 milliseconds.  When seconds count, Internet Monitoring is the fastest method available.

Quality of Service:
Internet Monitoring is more secure, more reliable and faster, but it also provides a higher quality transmission to the central monitoring station.   More information is sent faster allowing better communication between you, the central station, and the authorities.
